A long day at the ballpark Saturday for Melbourne and Lake Minneola as a one hour and 22-minute weather delay was following by a second stoppage in play two outs later as play was eventually suspended for the day with Melbourne leading 4-2 with two outs in the bottom of the 4th inning.
Gabe Gonzalez stole a pair of bases, scored two runs and hit his first home run of the season to pace the Bulldogs.
Chase Dougherty and Colson May each had RBI singles for the Hawks.
VSN Space Coast will again be broadcast live streaming when Game Two of this 6A Regional Semifinal series resumes at 1:00pm. A Melbourne win would force a decisive Game 3 which VSN Space Coast will also have live following the conclusion of Game 2.
