Amazing performance by Commodores QB Joseph Allen, incredible catches by Tay Johnson and Zay Hawkins. A clutch FG by Preston Kennedy then a huge pick-6 by Gabriel Player that appeared to seal it.
But the resiliency by the Mustangs and QB Kevin Verpaele who had a short memory and drove his team down the field sparked by a huge pass play to DeShaun Thomas the Verpaele scored the TD in the closing seconds then threw a jaw-dropping pass to Kamar Fielder for the 2-point conversion and send the game into OT.
A TD by Verpaele and an XP from Liam Miller for the Mustangs
Eau Gallie answered with a TD run by Donovan Richardson then they go for two and the win....Allen rolled right and sprinted for the goal line where he was met by Alain Adams and Fielder at the goal line. Allen lunged the ball, the refs said short.
A 24-game in-county win streak is stopped. Merritt Island moved to 7-0.
